Versatile and functional
LÜRA movable walls are designed to be versatile right from the start. Used as retaining walls or box dividers, they can also protect hall columns and conveyor technology, as well as divide and secure individual hall or fire compartments.
The steel bonus: LÜRA steel walls are incredibly stable and have a clear edge over concrete masonry or cast-in-place concrete.
No slipping or tipping over
LÜRA walls are in one piece: nothing can slip, collapse, or tip over!
Clean bulk material storage
No cracks, gaps, spalling, or bulk material contamination — even when things get rough at the recycling station!
Outstanding even at heights above 4 metres
From heights of roughly 4 m, LÜRA steel walls outperform concrete blocks in terms of structural stability. The best design that provides superior support and protection: with LÜRA, double rows of walls are not necessary, not even in the hall construction.
Easy to mend
Minor damage can be mended easily and at a low cost.
Painting & corrosion protection
LÜRA steel walls have a notably long lifetime, i.e., 20 years or more! Our standard anti-corrosive paint certainly helps! However, our walls can also be left unpainted.
Filled with water
Walls retaining lighter bulk material or lower fill heights can be filled with water. To this end, they require additional struts and waterproof welding. Depending on use, LÜRA movable walls can accommodate various drainage connections.
LÜRA steel walls are movable and modular. By repositioning them, you can customise and adapt the size and structure of your bulk material boxes without impacting the ground on which they rest or making significant structural changes — optimum space utilisation and cost-effectiveness in your bulk handling operations!
The best supporting structure for bulk storage halls
LÜRA movable walls are the strongest support on which you can build your bulk material hall, no matter if it is due to have a shed, saddle, vaulted, or sliding roof. It is also a budget-friendly alternative to a new building: With our steel walls, you can convert standard halls into dedicated bulk handling facilities.
You can fill them with free-flowing materials such as sand or gravel. In some cases, filling them with water may also be an option, depending on the application.
Do I have to fill the walls up to the edge?
Yes, filling the walls to the top is essential to ensure their stability.
Do I have to fix the walls to the ground?
In general, no. Our walls are designed to be stable without being fixed to the ground. They’re also movable, so you can reposition them whenever needed.
However, for XXL wall sizes or very heavy bulk, it may be more economical to fix them in place.
How can I move or reposition the walls after filling them?
You can move the walls using a telehandler, wheel loader, excavator or similar handling equipment.
Just make sure:
Your equipment can handle the weight of the filled walls
The lifting profiles are properly welded and secure before repositioning.
What wall heights or maximum wall heights are available?
Wall heights are available up to 8 metres.
How do you make sure the ground can support the LÜRA walls? What proof do I need to provide?
The loads that the ground has to support are provided in your custom project’s structural analysis. Your surface needs to be strong enough to handle these: LÜRA does not usually have information about actual subsoil conditions.
It’s up to the client to confirm that his ground is stable, usually by providing a subsoil report.
This report is then used for any necessary foundation calculations.
How heavy are the walls?
Depending on their size, LÜRA walls typically weigh between 1.5 and 3 tonnes.
How thick are the steel sheets?
They are 6 mm thick.
